SCHOOL ALERT - Are you seizure smart?
Early intervention for school-aged children with epilepsy/seizure disorder is the cornerstone to ensuring that they have the support services necessary to maximize their educational experience. The Foundation offers the School Alert Program free of charge and the services can be requested by parents, nurses, teachers or school administrators. These services include: ACT 48 In-Service for Teachers and Nurses (CEC) to help build a favorable and safe environment and provide support for the student; Student Programs for Grades K - 12 to promote a favorable social climate for the student through age-appropriate and interactive presentations; 504 Classroom Accommodation to evaluate the student's need for added learning enhancements; Independent Education Program (IEP) to aid in the formation and implementation of a plan to address the learning needs of the student K - 12 as well as 3 to 5 year olds.
